Pulsar Postdoc Possibilities at UBC

There are lots of opportunities for a postdoc to get involved with the various pulsar search and timing projects here at UBC. Although there is not much funding for pulsar postdoc salaries at the moment, anyone who can bring their own postdoctoral fellowship to UBC can count on research and travel support through the pulsar group. Please see the links below for some of the funding opportunities available, and contact Ingrid Stairs about possible letters of acceptance or support.

• For all qualified applicants: UBC Killam Postdoctoral Fellowships, deadline TBD; contact Ingrid Stairs first.
• For those whose work ties in to theory: CITA National Fellowships, deadline Fall 2006.
• For Canadian citizens and permanent residents: NSERC postdoctoral fellowships, deadline Oct. 15 (or earlier through your institution).
• For US citizens and permanent residents: NSF International Research Fellowships, deadline Oct. 3.
• For Europeans: Marie Curie Outgoing International Fellowships, deadline Jan. 18.
• For Australians planning short-term visits: ARC International Fellowships, deadline Oct. 13
• For short visits (up to 4 months) for people based in the UK: Royal Society "short visits", deadlines a few times a year.
